Pirelli Tyres With Internet Technology

The automotive industry sheds sweat for innovative technologies so to conquer the market and to come up with innovative solutions which enhance the customer experience and safety.

Pirelli, a world-class tyre manufacturer has come up with an innovative tyre which can communicate with the help of internet technology. This is called “Cyber tyre”, which has an embedded disc. This embedded disc has a small computing processor, other communication circuits and sensors for processing communication information and signals. The signals are processed by the processor embedded on the disc and these are communicated to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) of the car’s other communicating devices connected in the nearby domain.

As we all know, the tyre makes the only contact between the road and a vehicle, it is the tyres that are essential for vehicle movement on the roads. The tyres experience the harshness of the roads, changes on the surfaces and are prone to numerous types of problems. The driver thus is required to ensure that tyres are in perfect shape before taking the vehicle out on the roads. Imagine a technology wherein the tyres can provide in perfect details about their status, their working conditions and thus assist the drivers and allow them to take accurate actions for a perfect and safe drive.

We shall thank Pirelli tyres because with this innovative technology it has made it possible for the tyre to communicate with the driver, vehicle and alongside the 5G provides complete roadway infrastructure. The internal sensor in the Cyber tyres supplies the car with data of tyre model, kilometres, dynamic load and potential dangers on the road, water presence and poor grip conditions are also fetched. This information from the sensor designs the car to adjust its control and driving assistance systems as well as hugely improve the safety level, performance and comfort. And, the same information is provided to other cars which are very close to.
